Stasys Eidrigevičius Arts Centre is implementing the project "Reclaimed History" (No. LL-00061) as a partner under the Interreg VI-A Latvia-Lithuania Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2021-2027. The project is carried out under the Program’s Priority 4: “Economic Tourism and Heritage Potential.”
Project Goal – To enhance the role of lost and forgotten cultural and historical heritage in the Žiemgala and Northern Lithuania regions by creating interactive and digital tourism products and a unified route that will increase the number of visitors and overnight stays in the region.
Project Benefits – A new, interactive, innovative, and inclusive tourist route will be created in Panevėžys, covering the cultural heritage site of Juozas Čerkesas' homestead and Skaistakalnis Park. Residents and visitors of Panevėžys will have the opportunity to learn about the historical figures who lived in the Juozas Čerkesas homestead and the events that took place in the Skaistakalnis Park area. By collaborating with municipalities on both sides of the Lithuania-Latvia border, new attractive tourism routes will be developed, connecting cultural heritage sites in both neighboring countries.
