In Panevėžys, coziness and art merge with the magic of light. The Skaistakalnio and Culture and Leisure Parks, which attract locals and visitors all year round, shine in new colors during the festive season. Trees adorned with lights along the main paths and unique light installations continue to invite visitors to enjoy cozy evenings under the open sky.
In the Culture and Leisure Park, special attention is drawn to the entrances named after the four seasons—Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Illuminated trees in the evenings create a magical atmosphere, inviting visitors to embark on an unforgettable walk. In Skaistakalnio Park, not only the trees decorated with lights add coziness, but also the unique Lithuanian garden compositions "Glowing Gardens." During the day, the artworks made from pipes delight visitors with their meticulous aesthetics, and at night they become a magical oasis of tranquility.
The magic of lights invites visitors to discover the newly illuminated city stained glass. In the center of Panevėžys, two stained-glass windows are illuminated: the "Youth" stained glass of the Marriage Palace and the stained-glass windows of the Panevėžys Culture Center.
The stained glass at the Marriage Palace, created by the famous artist Prof. Kazys Morkūnas, was first professionally illuminated during the Open Industry Weekend organized by the Panevėžys Development Agency in the fall. Becoming a prominent city landmark, the stained glass now shines daily from 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM, drawing the attention of passersby with its play of colors.
The stained-glass windows of the Panevėžys Culture Center, created by the artist Gintautė Laimutė Baginskienė, depict national values and illustrate the Lithuanian folk song "A Little Oak Grew in the Forest." The four-part stained glass windows light up every evening together with the street lights, filling the city with coziness, uniqueness, and historical significance.
The Panevėžys City Municipality invites everyone to discover these special city spaces, enjoy their beauty, and take cozy evening walks around the city.
