Industry and Arts Residency Pragiedruliai – where music and industry converge above the city rooftops

Industry and Arts Residency "Pragiedruliai" – where music and industry converge above the city rooftops.

This fall, three musical duos from Lithuania, Latvia, and Ukraine have gathered in Panevėžys. Over several weeks, these masters of diverse musical genres have created unique compositions in residence, transforming the hum of industry into soundscapes and filling the city with artistic vibrations. Imagine – music emanating from the rooftops of old industrial giants, blending art with industry and inspiring the city to be reborn.

The works produced during this residency program not only reflect Panevėžys's unique industrial character but also venture to question sustainability, ecology, and new forms of creative expression. This project represents a leap into the future, where artists and businesses collaborate in the pursuit of sustainable solutions to today’s challenges.

“It’s wonderful that electronic music keeps finding its unique place here in my hometown, Panevėžys. I feel honored to continue the city’s rich history of electronic music through this project. The recorded tracks span different musical genres, so I hope each listener finds a sound that resonates with them. And if not, perhaps at least the unseen industrial horizons of Panevėžys will spark positive emotions,” adds project coordinator Žygimantas Kriščiūnas.

On November 22, at Panevėžys's "Špunka," you can be among the very first to see and hear a recording by the duo Tadas Majeris and Gytis Simanavičius, captured from Panevėžys's "Stiklas" factory. You'll also have the chance to explore music creation techniques with Paulius Večera and engage in discussions with the project organizers.
