In Panevėžys – Presentation of the Social Project “Babulenciaga,” Inviting a Fresh Look at Style and Age

Presentation of the social project “Babulenciaga”, inviting a fresh look at style and age
2nd of May at Stasys Museum, at the Cinema “Garsas”, a presentation event for the social project “Babulenciaga” will take place. It is a story about inspiring senior women of Panevėžys – creators, community members, and heroines of the city – whose life stories, style, and courage demonstrate that creativity, elegance, and self-expression have no age limit.

The project explores the connection between sustainability and everyday life – how personal clothing, jewellery, and other items of sentimental value can preserve memories and tell unique life stories. During the photoshoot, participants created their own looks from garments and accessories they had kept throughout their lives, and this creative experience evolved into a distinctive narrative of style and self-expression.

During the event, the project catalogue will be presented as well as visitors will be invited to watch the documentary short “Babulenciaga”, which reveals the heroines’ stories and their personal relationship with style, life experience, and creativity, and take part in a discussion with the project’s protagonists themselves.

The event will conclude with director Lina Plioplytė’s film “Advanced Style”, about older women in New York known for their distinctive sense of style.
