Elžbieta Danieliūtė

Residency – Following her win at the "Revive" Sustainable Fashion Festival 2025 – I Believe

The award won at the REVIVE Sustainable Fashion Festival in 2025 has marked the beginning of a new creative chapter.

Elžbieta Danieliūtė is a Lithuanian filmmaker and visual artist working under the name ZZYZLA. Her practice brings together moving image, sound, fashion and visual art to create evocative, atmospheric narratives in which chaos, silence and emotion intertwine. Through her atmospheric moving image works, she explores the inner landscapes of human experience, employing an experimental visual language, unexpected contrasts and the interplay of different media. Her work is driven by a search for new forms of expression, challenging conventional visual structures and inviting viewers not only to observe, but to experience.

During the residency, the artist will develop the audiovisual work Aš tikiu (I Believe), exploring personal memories, inner experiences and individual stories.

Reflecting on her practice, the artist says:

"My creative practice is my way of speaking without rules. I'm interested not only in what people see, but also in what they feel. I create to bring together fashion, art, moving image and emotion into a single story that can mean something different to everyone.

I enjoy playing with contrasts, combining unexpected elements, breaking familiar forms and searching for beauty where it often goes unnoticed. I find inspiration everywhere – in music, the city, people, memories and chaos.

I like to experiment, blending different textures, forms and moods. For me, making art is a constant process of moving forward. It's a process without boundaries – only new ideas and the desire to create something that endures."
