Residency – Photography PleinAir Workshop: Contours of Place – Photographic Urban Narratives

Dāvis Drēziņš is a Latvian photographer whose residency project draws on a humorous linguistic experience from his childhood. Building on this personal story, the artist will explore themes of distance, memory, and local identity during the residency.

"Contours of Place" is an international site-specific photography residency and field workshop in which artists explore the city of Panevėžys through contemporary photography, observation, and artistic research. Throughout the residency, participants create new works that respond to the city's unique context, examining questions of place identity, memory, urban transformation, and the relationship between people and their environment. The resulting works are subsequently presented in an exhibition.
