Residency - Project Cool'tūra
Staselė Jakunskaitė – visual artist and illustrator based in Vilnius, weaving together clever wordplay, bold ideas, and a wink of social commentary. Her work transforms everyday language and cultural clichés into visual riddles of conceptual narratives. Drawing from her background in painting and her love for printmaking, she combines rich textures, vibrant palettes, and geometric shapes to create thought-provoking images.
Staselė Jakunskaitė took part in the 'Cool’tūra' project as an artist-in-residence, spending a week working with secondary school students from the Panevėžys district. During the residency, she collaborated with the students to create large-scale murals, introducing them to the process of street art production—from developing ideas and sketches to executing the final work on the wall.
Throughout the residency, Jakunskaitė shared her professional knowledge and technical expertise while encouraging students to think creatively, make visual decisions, and experiment. Working together, the students gained first-hand insight into the role of a professional artist and experienced creative practice as a process of collaboration, dialogue, and self-expression.
